What is a blog?
A blog is a website where people can
express their ideas and thoughts. Moreover, people who are interested in your
post can make comments or argue about the topic. The blog can be edited or
eliminated when the owner wants. For journalist, blogs are very useful.
However, teachers are starting to use blogs with students to improve the
learning process.
Why use blogger with students?
Blogger can be a useful tool for the teaching
process. Students can practice writing and reading in their house and in the
classroom. Three important aspects to consider are:
·
Classroom
interaction:
Normally
blogs are short journals; thus, students can read it fast in the classroom and
make some comments about the topic. All students can participate and share
their thoughts
·
Critical
thinking:
Most of the
time blogs are about interesting and controversial topics. As a result,
students have to develop critical thinking in order to make the comments. Besides,
if a student does not know anything about the topic he or she has to do research before
participate.
·
Creativity:
Creativity is
another important aspect to consider. Assigning students to do a blogger
involves a lot of creativity and imagination. Technology and creativity also
make students feel interesting in developing a blog for which later the classmates
have to read and interact.
